Hello, my name is Ioan, but I usually like to go
by my nickname, Buttowsky.
My artistic journey began in high school, where I
first developed a strong interest in visual expression and creative
storytelling. Building on that foundation, I later enrolled in the Graphic Arts
program at the George Enescu National University of Arts. Throughout my
studies, I focused on 3D Animation, a field that allowed me to combine both
technical skills and imagination.
Because video games have always been one of my
greatest passions, I decided to channel my academic projects toward game
development. For my Bachelor’s degree, I created a game inspired by Greek
mythology. Later, for my Master’s degree, I developed another game rooted in
Japanese culture, reflecting another personal passion, and a long-standing
admiration for its history, traditions, and aesthetics. Both projects allowed
me to merge cultural research with digital creativity, while also refining my
skills in design, animation, and storytelling.
I am a PhD student at the National University of
Arts George Enescu in Iași, and my
project involves developing a video game based on art history. My doctoral
research focuses on integrating video games into educational contexts, with the
goal of reawakening people’s interest in art and demonstrating how interactive
media can serve as powerful tools for learning and cultural engagement.
